Step 4 replacement ACR - Bluetooth pairing and testing


For- Queensland School Ticketing (QST) operators

You will need the following equipment 

  • The replacement ACR card reader
  • A smartcard, a blank card from your spares - to test smartcard tap 
  • Driver login details to access the driver application on the iPad in the bus create a driver
  • Take the replacement ACR card reader to the assigned vehicle and carefully place in its cradle

When the replacement ACR card reader is in the assigned vehicle

  1. Confirm the power cable is inserted correctly in the device and power source.
  2. Turn the ACR card reader on.  (move toggle power switch to the Bluetooth icon)
  3. Login to the driver application on the iPad
  4. Take note of the serial number on the rear of the ACR card reader as you will need to know this when Bluetooth pairing ACR card reader serial number location

  6. Open a route on the driver app
  7. Confirm the “green tick” next to the letters ACR in the transaction screen. This shows a successful Bluetooth connection with the ACR card reader. Confirm ACR card reader Bluetooth connection
  8. Tap the blank smartcard and listen for an audio prompt from the iPad. The iPad (if logged into a route) would give a message depending on the card. eg 'invalid card' for a card that's not in the system (blank card) and a similar message for a card that is not authorised to travel on the route that's logged in.   9. Logout of driver application.
