Step 3 - Replacement of Pax A920 - Replacement arrives

Once you have the replacement unit, these are the next steps to take.

  • Remove the replacement device from the packaging.  If you are returning a damaged/faulty device, keep the box, bubble wrap and return postage satchel. (Private, QST and TFNSW clients)
  • The registration number of the vehicle this device is assigned to is written on the box. (QST and TFNSW clients only)
  • Locate the serial number of the damaged unit.  This will be required by Datamesh when you are ready to swap over to the replacement unit for cashless functionality.  If your damaged device serial number is unable to be located due to damage, contact Transportme for the serial number via the existing support ticket. (Private, QST and TFNSW clients)
  • How to find the serial number on the Pax A920
  • Call Datamesh support (1300 023 282) to switch cashless/credit card function from the damaged device to the replacement device.  Datamesh will need the serial number for both devices. Until this step has been completed, the new terminal cannot be used for cashless transactions. We highly recommend you complete this outside of operating hours. (Private, QST and TFNSW clients)
  • Once Datamesh has confirmed the replacement Pax A920 is ready to accept cashless payments, please go through the following checklist and function tests. (Private, QST and TFNSW clients)
  • Confirm the battery tape has been removed from the battery terminal. The Pax device does have battery tape covering the battery terminal when they are posted, this will need to be removed prior to use.  Unlock the battery cover located on the back of the Pax device. Slide battery down and remove the tape, re- insert the battery and put battery cover back on. (Private, QST and TFNSW clients)
  • Confirm the power cable is inserted correctly in the device and power source.
  • Confirm there is a paper roll in the device. If you need to order more paper rolls. “How to order paper roll

  • Turn the Pax A920 device on.  Hold down the power button for 2 seconds. After approx 20 seconds the Transportme app will open.

  • Check the device has data signal as sim card will be supplied for QST and TFNSW clients check data signal PAX A920- (QST and TFNSW clients only)
  • Private clients- Remove and reinstall M2M pax sim card
  • Bluetooth pairing with the iPad and general device set up.  Pax A920 information
  • Do not Bluetooth pair the Pax A920 to the iPad via the iOS settings on the iPad.  The iPad will display an error message.  example below. If you receive this error message, please go to iOS settings on the iPad>Bluetooth and select the "forget the PAX device".  Then pair the Pax A920 via the Transportme driver app
